The Demon Box transforms the hidden electromagnetic world into sound, signal, light and data. It captures frequencies from everyday electronics like phones, drills, and TVs, then converts them into audio signal, MIDI data, and control voltage. Whether you’re conjuring a melismatic drone or triggering synesthetic visuals, the Demon Box is an instrument of sonic discovery, part science and séance.
The Demon Box offers a variety of features that make it a versatile and powerful catalyst for users of any background. Its potential applications are nearly limitless, as the Demon Box can easily interface with your live performance setup, DAW, hardware synth, Eurorack module or visual programming software.
Features
- Inductor Array; 33 surface inductors, split across three channels, detect EMF from virtually any object with a motor or magnetic field.
- Triphonic and Mono Outputs; blend all three channels using the triphonic out, or route each channel individually through three dedicated mono outputs.
- Aux Inputs; bring in external audio such as guitar or synth and mix it with EMF textures for rich, layered results.
- Per-Channel Controls; each channel features mix knobs and switches that let you select inductor signal, external audio, or play with a combination of both.
- Send MIDI CC and note data via USB-C or 5-pin DIN to control synths, samplers, sequencers, or visual setups.
- Each EMF channel generates CV, letting you animate your modular rig with the signals of the real world.
- Cast Light and Shadow; the Demon Box goes beyond sound. Use it to control lights and visuals by routing MIDI data to DMX or directly into visual software. Every object becomes an instrument. Every signal becomes a show.
