Runic Labs’ Passive DI is a high-end transformer-balanced “direct box” designed for Eurorack, suitable for both live performance and the studio.
Passive DI converts a hot unbalanced Eurorack signal directly to a balanced microphone signal without the need an intermediary output stage or external direct box.
On stage, Passive DI enables you to plug straight from your system into the venue’s stage box or console. The shielded transformers make it a low-noise output stage you can rely on.
In the studio, Passive DI’s transparent sound brings out the character of your favorite mic preamps. Or you can bypass the attenuation to drive the transformer harder and introduce the odd-harmonic saturation you know from classic American studio consoles.
For stereo use, any two Passive DIs are a matched pair thanks to high-precision (0.1%) metal-film resistors.
